Friday Foodie Find: Joyeaux Cafe & Restaurant

4 Jun

Do you ever find that you go to places, but only have time (or room in your stomach) for a quick snack or nibble? I find a lot of amazing restaurants, bakeries, dives and everything in-between like that, and I always seem to lose my way back to them. Here’s hoping blogging about my Foodie Find will solve that problem. Call it your foodie ramp up for a delicious weekend :-)

Joyeaux Cafe & Restaurant

This post is a little late because I just went to this place today. From the outside, Joyeaux looks like a simple sidewalk cafe. Walk inside and you’re suddenly in a Vietnamese restaurant (with a decorating style that reminds me of a Mexican place for some reason). It’s a great place to go to get some pho right in the heart of Downtown Vancouver (a very difficult thing to find!).

Lemongrass Chicken from Joyeaux

It turned out to be a sunny day in Vancouver, so pho was out of the question for me. I got a #17- Lemongrass Chicken with Rice. It came with a simple salad. The chicken was amazing. The lemon flavor was subtle, but definitely there. Since it wasn’t a strong flavor, there was a nice sweetness that was coming out- possibly from whatever else it was marinated with. This was the best lemongrass chicken I’ve ever had, which actually  makes me wish it was cold enough for me to try their pho! haha

The place was packed with lunch break workers, but the turn over was fast and they can accommodate large groups of people easily.
